The Partner

Television Show: The Profit (2017). After investing more than $50 million of his own money in companies featured on The Profit, self-made millionaire and serial entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis is now ready to invest in his new CNBC show, The Partner. I have been a fan of Marcus and The Profit since the show first premiered. In fact, the show was a recommendation here on RetirementSavvy last year.

On The Profit,  Marcus Lemonis lent his expertise to struggling businesses in various industries across the country by focusing on his oft-stated keys to success – people, process, and product – the three Ps.

Serving as his own host, Lemonis analyzed businesses by what I believe is the most important factor, the quality of people; by identifying the best possible process for creating, delivering, and selling the particular product; and discerning if the owners are in possession of a truly relevant product.

As a regular – along with my wife – viewer of The Profit, I looked forward to seeing Marcus’ new show, which I did tonight, streaming it via the CNBC app on Apple TV.

As a result of successful new partnerships on The Profit, Marcus has added a variety of new product lines and services to his holding company, Marcus Lemonis Enterprises LLC. That expansion has led Marcus to conclude that his empire is too large to run on his own, and hence, the need for a partner.

The format is pretty straight forward. Thousands of people from all over the country applied via submitted videos. From that, ten were flown to Chicago for the first meeting with Marcus and by the end of the premier episode, only five remained. Through various business challenges in future shows, that five will be culled to one … Marcus’ new partner.

The Partner airs new shows on Tuesdays at 10:00P ET.
