Vivino – For the Wine Lover in You

Mobile Application: Vivino. Do you enjoy a good glass of wine? If so, you should check out Vivino. The mobile app and wine community offer an up to date catalog with prices, stores, regions, grapes and reviews.

The website offers features such as Wine News – where recent headlines included The Family Feud that Juiced the Rise of the Napa Valley and Understanding the French Wine Label – Top Lists – examples include Wines to Pair with Healthy Foods and White Wines for the Red Wine Drinker – Wine Styles and Wine Offers.

And of course there is the mobile app. With the app you can take a photo of any wine label and instantly learn that wine’s rating, review, and average price; all supplied by Vivino’s 16 million users – the world’s largest community of wine drinkers. The app is available in the Apple, Google Play, and Windows apps stores.

At this point I have added five wines. Two of the wines I discovered in Germany, Rosenberg’s Acolon Trocken [2014] and Corte Barocca Chianti [2014]; and a few favorites that I typically enjoy at home, includingMénage à Trois  [2012] – my current favorite – and Muirwood Pinot Noir [2013], and 14 Hands Merlot [2012].

Although I have been drinking wine for years, starting with white wines and switching exclusively to red wines a few years ago, I am certainly no expert. However, I’m enjoying the road to expertise, one glass at a time!

If you’re a wine drinker and decide to check out the app, by all means, follow me and I’ll be sure to do the same. Salute’!
