Last month I came across an article that discussed the morning habits of successful people. I was pleased to see that I already engage in most of the listed activities, including exercising and setting daily goals.
Preparing Lemon Water
One listed activity that I had not considered is drinking lemon water. In addition to providing nutrients such as potassium, vitamin C, and antioxidants, the article noted that drinking lemon water as soon as you wake up spikes energy levels physically and mentally; and improves the nutrient absorption in your stomach and gives you a steady, natural energy buzz that lasts throughout the day.

The wife and I have adopted the habit of drinking a warm cup of lemon water – occasionally adding fresh squeezed oranges – first thing in the morning. As suggested, we drink the water on an empty stomach to ensure full absorption. As the weather has turned a little cooler here in Arizona, a warm cup of lemon water is the perfect drink before we head out for our morning run or to walk the dogs. We find that it does boost energy levels that serves us well later in the day.
