In a recent post, The Benefits of Lemon Water, I noted that in addition to providing nutrients such as potassium, vitamin C, and antioxidants, drinking lemon water as soon as you wake up spikes energy levels physically and mentally; and improves the nutrient absorption in your stomach and gives you a steady, natural energy buzz that lasts throughout the day.
Your Actions are Your Destiny
Following a half cup of warm lemon water, the wife and I like to get in a run, or brisk walk, and finish our morning routine with a fresh fruit smoothie and an egg, for a shot of protein. As the sun is rising later and the weather starts to change, it’s become a little too cold to run at 4:45 in the morning, even here in Southeastern Arizona.

During this time of the year we often head to the gym to get in a run on the treadmills. Two miles and a little core work later, we’re back at the house making the smoothies and eggs.

While we aren’t always able to follow this exact routine, we do on most mornings, and we find our days flow better when we do.
