Introduction – Taz Bright

While the focus on this blog remains retirement planning, there is the recognition that certain practices support that objective.  One such practice?  Economizing the use of resources...or living frugally.  Therefore, I am pleased to announce that starting this Saturday, September 7, we will present a Living Frugally article every Saturday.  A Guest Contributor, Mr. Taz Bright, starts us off by highlighting behaviors that make the most of what you have; behaviors that will help SavvyReaders better position themselves for a comfortable retirement.

Taz is a veteran business owner who has experienced both financial success and failure.  He has lived a life of financial independence as the result of successful business ventures but also struggled financially as a 6-year victim of identity theft.  That theft led to a car repossession, eviction, and several wrongful arrests.

Due to this victimization, Taz learned what it meant to struggle every day for food & shelter.  His desire to be a good example to his son kept him focused and served as his primary motivation to regain his footing.  Today, Taz lives outside the grip of identity theft.  He has made it through the struggle, and as a result, has a passion for teaching others to reach their financial goals, gain financial wisdom, and  live a life of real financial freedom.

Taz has drawn inspiration from the financial success stories of Robert Kiyosaki and his wife who, at one point, lived in their car; Walt Disney, a man that refused to give up; and books by successful people like Larry Burkett, which teach financial wisdom.  Together, these sources helped to lay the foundation for Taz’s financial management philosophy.  Now, back on his feet, once again Taz is a business owner as well as a public speaker.

Taz is available to speak on a number of topics including, but not limited to…

  • Moving from below the poverty line
  • What’s Your Address?  The importance of choosing a quadrant: employee, self-employed, business owner, investor
  • Beat the system.  Thriving in an economy not set up to help you succeed
